Promotion Counseling 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Hello,

I am looking for the AR regarding Promotion Counseling. I was told that it is mandatory for Soldiers that have already been boarded to recieve a Promotion Counseling. So far the only guidance I have found is in FM 6-22 Appendix B, where it is outlined that a Soldier must recieve a Promotion Counseling if he/she is in the primary zone and has not been recommended.

I am looking for the Army Regulation that states a Soldier is to be given a specific Promotion Counseling after they have already been to the board. I usually include my comments for promotion on the Performance and Professional Growth Counseling. I do however always counsel Soldiers if they are not being recommended to appear before a Promotion Board and what the need to do to get there.

Thanks, you comment are very appreciated.

I am wondering if an E-4 who is junior to another E-4 by TIG but is in a senior position may counsel the senior Soldier for their quarterly counseling.
I cannot find in the AR's or FM's the answer to this question. Can anyone help?
